Kitchen Remodel with Wood Countertops

The original builder envisioned a 'special' room with vaulted ceilings, but the proportions left much to be desired. After careful design and study, we transformed the space from a towering 17 feet with vaults to a comfortable 14 feet with a coffered ceiling. The new look is not only visually appealing but also creates a more comfortable atmosphere.

The kitchen underwent a significant redesign, with one of the key decisions revolving around the island counter surface. We opted for the timeless warmth of wood, a material that resonates with both eyes and hands. While wood can be prone to dings and dents, many find these imperfections add character and charm. For this project, we used Caribou wood countertops, known for their durability thanks to a special sealing process. The walnut island countertop from Caribou added a beautiful touch to the space.

An update on this project: 18 months post-completion, the wood countertop remains in excellent condition, a testament to its quality and durability. We are delighted with the lasting beauty and functionality it brings to this stunning home.
